Senior iPhone/iPad/Watch Developer

I am a highly-skilled software engineer and computer science graduate with 29 years of professional experience and have been programming since before I was a teenager in the 1980s. Software development is my greatest skill and I have an incredible attention to detail and perseverance in getting the job done, and done well. I've been developing native Objective-C iOS apps for over 10 years (since iOS 4) and Swift for over 4 years. I don't use cross platform tools like React Native or Flutter. I believe native apps give the best results and have the least problems adopting new iOS features and continuing to work with new iOS versions and devices in the future. In previous jobs I've worked extensively with C, C++, SQL and more. I have experience with a wide range of Apple's SDKs and features such as Auto Layout, iPad multi-tasking, Drag & Drop, Today Widgets, Siri shortcuts and Watch apps. I have a good understanding of what it takes to maintain apps over the long term. All my personal apps from the very first in 2011 support modern devices and are still available in the App Store. Experience has taught me the kinds of problems that can occur when adopting new iOS features or adapting to new devices. I can help you get your apps updated for iOS 13. I also have direct experience with Apple's policies, device capabilities and account management procedures. App Review can be a little unpredictable at times and Apple's review guidelines change over time. By hiring me you would benefit from my extensive software development skills and experience. Technologies change, but first-class analysis, design, development, testing and debugging skills can only be built from many years of hard work and real-life development experience across a variety of technologies. I work from home in a distraction-free environment using a 2018 Mac Mini with multiple monitors and a MacBook Pro. For good test coverage I own many iOS devices from iPhone 4S and the original iPad and Apple Watch through to iPhone 12 Pro, 10.5" iPad Pro and a 44mm Series 4 Apple Watch. I don't believe you can get the true "feel" of an app by just using the simulator. For client testing, I can use TestFlight to deliver builds throughout the project.
